BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. — The deadline for interested individuals to register to run for office in Beaufort County is fast approaching. Aspiring candidates have until Thursday at noon to complete and submit the necessary paperwork to the election board.
In Hilton Head Island, six people have already entered the race for three available town council positions. Incumbent council member, Alex Brown, is among the current candidates.
In the city of Beaufort, Mayor Phil Cromer faces one challenger to date, current Councilman Josh Scallate. Additionally, four people, including two sitting council members, are campaigning for council seats.
The Beaufort County Council, on the other hand, has three positions up for grabs in this year’s election.
