A Leader in Education

Join us in celebrating Ashley Fouty, the shining assistant principal at Pleasant Hill Middle School, who has just been named the 2025 South Carolina Middle Level Assistant Principal of the Year! What an accomplishment!

Mrs. Fouty has been making waves in the education community, and it’s no surprise that she is being recognized for her hard work and dedication. “We are thrilled to recognize Mrs. Ashley Fouty as the South Carolina Middle Level Assistant Principal of the Year,” said Dr. Quincie Moore, Executive Director of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA). Dr. Moore continued to praise Fouty’s innovative leadership and commitment to improving educational outcomes for students, especially those with disabilities.

Transforming Pleasant Hill Middle School

What makes Mrs. Fouty’s leadership so special? For starters, she’s implemented fantastic collaborative programs like Empower and Cougar Cafe that have transformed the educational experience for students at Pleasant Hill. Her knack for building strong relationships with students and staff has not only made a positive impact but has also created a supportive school culture that everyone can feel.

Dr. Gerrita Postlewait, the Superintendent of Lexington School District One, couldn’t be more proud. “A talented and dedicated instructional leader, Ashley empowers teachers and students to learn, grow, and excel,” she explained. It’s clear that the Lexington One community is celebrating this well-deserved honor with Mrs. Fouty!

Representing South Carolina on a National Stage

As if receiving this distinguished award isn’t exciting enough, Mrs. Fouty will now have the opportunity to represent our great state in the competition for the National Middle Level Assistant Principal of the Year. This is a huge platform to showcase her hard work and the incredible accomplishments of not just her, but the entire Pleasant Hill Middle School team!

In addition to Fouty, the competition had some tough contenders, including Emily Wilson from Starr-Iva Middle School and Dr. Paketrice White from Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School. All of these individuals are making amazing strides in their respective schools, but only one could take home the top honor!

Community Response

The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive. Many parents and students have taken to social media, sharing their congratulations and expressing how lucky they feel to have such a passionate educator leading their school. It’s a real boost of morale for everyone associated with Pleasant Hill Middle School!
