This decision came down after a lengthy investigation that started on May 3, 2023, when the Humane Society of South Carolina received concerning reports regarding the welfare of horses at Blocker’s ranch.

How It All Started

The situation escalated quickly when the Humane Society reached out to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) to conduct a welfare check on the horses. It turns out, there were multiple concerns about the living conditions of these majestic animals. After meeting with Blocker, the Humane Society made arrangements to help cover the veterinary care costs for the horses, aiming for rehabilitation and education while still allowing Blocker to retain care.
