Columbia Gears Up for the 76th Annual Trinity Bazaar
Columbia, get ready for a day filled with fun, food, and fantastic finds! Tomorrow, on October 26, the beautiful Trinity Episcopal Cathedral will be opening its doors for the highly anticipated 76th Annual Trinity Bazaar. This is an event that brings the community together and supports local non-profit organizations, making it a heartwarming occasion for everyone involved. Just a heads up, there might be a little shower early on, but nothing should dampen the spirits! Expect a low of around 60 degrees, with light winds setting the scene for a cozy autumn day.
A Little Bit of History
You might be wondering, how did this bazaar get started? Well, it all began way back in 1948, not far from where the event takes place today. The first-ever bazaar was a simple dinner and live auction aimed at raising funds for local residents diagnosed with tuberculosis. Fast forward to 2024, and the mission has grown significantly. According to this year’s Bazaar Chair, Courtney Worsham, “We are proud to continue and expand this mission every year.” This year, the bazaar aims to raise over $40,000 for five local non-profits that have been selected through a grant application process.
