Lexington is buzzing with excitement as Circa Barbershop opens its doors in a beautifully renovated space on E. Main Street. After years of dedicated service, Halie Holland has stepped up to take ownership of this beloved local barbershop, marking a thrilling new chapter for both her and the community.
A Dream Realized
Halie, who has been a barber at Circa for five years, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “Opening this shop is about so much more than just giving haircuts — it’s about creating an experience, a place where everyone feels like part of the family.” Her approach goes beyond the traditional role of a barber; she aims to cultivate a welcoming environment where clients become friends and relationships thrive.

According to Halie, the chair at Circa is not just a place for a haircut — it’s ‘hairapy’. Whether clients are celebrating a new job, a wedding, or navigating tougher times, Halie wants everyone to know that Circa is a safe space that shares in life’s big moments. “We get to share in life’s big moments from marriages to new babies and everything in between,” she added.

The new barbershop is part of a larger renovation project managed by Chapin Commercial Construction, which recently transformed a historic building’s basement into this chic salon. Located at 101B E. Main St., the renovated space spans 2,285 square feet and boasts a stylish blend of modern design with classic elements, including exposed brick walls, vintage light fixtures, and penny-round tile flooring that adds a unique touch.
Enhancing Local Businesses
This renovation has also been beneficial for other tenants in the building. The flagship store, Craig Reagin Clothiers, which has been a staple in Lexington since 2011, has gained additional storage and office space thanks to the renovation efforts. Owner Jeremy Addy, who has deep roots in the community, expressed his enthusiasm for Circa joining him in the space. He remarked, “We’re thrilled to have Circa join us and bring even more energy, style, and sense of community to downtown Lexington.”
How It All Began
The journey to this grand opening started with the original Circa being founded back in 2014 by D.R. Granger in Columbia. What began as a one-chair shop has blossomed into a flourishing business with eight locations—seven situated in South Carolina and a recent expansion to Pittsburgh. Halie’s new role as an owner fits perfectly into Circa’s philosophy of empowering their talented barbers to grow into leadership positions.

Chad Lindler, the founder of Chapin Commercial Construction, took pride in the project and the history behind it, sharing that, “Renovating a historic building like this presents unique challenges, but it’s those challenges that make the process very fulfilling.” Lindler’s team finished the project with a strong commitment to preserving the old-world charm while modernizing the space for today’s lifestyles.
