As Keith Hudson stated during the event, “Approximately one in eight women in the U.S. will develop breast cancer at some point in her life.”

Together with their dedicated team of over 900 employees, this occasion reflected a united front against a disease that affects so many lives. The Prisma Health Breast Center is a critical part of our community, recognized as the largest provider of breast imaging services in the Midlands, performing an impressive 40,000 mammograms each year. In fact, they were the very first program in South Carolina to receive full accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. This accreditation helps assure patients that they will receive comprehensive care from an interdisciplinary team. It covers everything from treatment options to patient support like nurse navigators and breast cancer conferences.
But that’s not all! The Breast Center also made history by launching the first mobile mammography unit in South Carolina back in 1988, paving the way for greater accessibility to crucial screening services.
