Hey, Irmo friends! Are you on the lookout for a new read? After the recent storm left many of us without TV or internet, you might have done a little extra reading. If that’s true for you, then we have some fantastic news that will get you even more excited about picking up your next book!
Fall Book Sale at the Irmo Branch Library
The Friends of the Irmo Branch Library are hosting their much-anticipated Fall Book Sale from Thursday through Saturday, October 10-12, in the library’s community room located at 6251 St. Andrews Road. This is a wonderful opportunity to stock up on some great titles, and trust us, you won’t want to miss it!
Exclusive Early Access
Now, here’s a little insider tip: there’s going to be a members-only sale on Thursday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to noon. That’s right—if you’re a Friend of the Irmo Branch Library, you get first dibs on the best books in the house! Not a member yet? No worries! You can join right at the door for just $10. It’s a small price to pay for early access to thousands of books.
Public Sale Times
After the members-only time, the doors will swing wide open for everyone. Here’s the schedule:
- Thursday, Oct. 10: 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
- Friday, Oct. 11: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 12: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Important Note: There will be no sale hours on Sunday, so mark your calendars!
A Treasure Trove of Books!
Most of the books are priced incredibly low, ranging from just 50 cents to $2. Plus, if you’re looking to score some serious savings, come prepared to fill a bag! You can buy a bag for a fixed price and stuff it with as many books as you can manage. Plus, if you’re a member, there will be discounts on bag purchases too.
More Than Just Books
But wait, there’s more! Alongside the amazing selection of books, you’ll find some CDs and DVDs too. And if you have kids, you’ll be delighted to discover that there’s a large collection of children’s books available, thanks to some generous donations during our recent Donation Days events. You might even spot some vintage books at special prices!

Every dollar spent at the book sale helps fund programs, services, and materials for the Irmo Branch Library, so by purchasing a few books, you’re also supporting a great cause. Plus, you’ll find Friends T-shirts and tote bags for sale—what a great way to show your support!
