Pickup Truck Collision in Lexington County Results in One Fatality
A fatal collision occurred on the afternoon of Saturday in Lexington County, leaving one person dead and three others injured. The crash, which involved two pickup trucks, occurred around 2 p.m. on U.S. 178 near D.E. Clark Road, around two miles outside of Pelion, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The Collision
Officials report that the accident involved a 2003 model Ford F-150 heading westbound and a 1997 model Ford F-150 driving south. The collision took place at the intersection of the aforementioned roads. Both vehicles reportedly had two occupants each at the time of the incident.
Injuries and Fatalities
The 2003 Ford’s passenger was declared dead at the scene, while the driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The occupants of the 1997 Ford were also taken to the hospital, suffering injuries as a result of the crash. The identities of the victims have not yet been released, and the condition of the injured parties is currently unknown.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash. As of now, no further details about the cause of the accident or potential charges have been released. The Lexington County Coroner’s Office also has not yet released formal identification of the deceased victim.
